Brickstone Africa was established in 2009 by Femi Awofala as a real estate advisory company. Since then, the company has evolved into an early-stage infrastructure accelerator with the help of a team of experts with extensive commercial and financial management experience, including sourcing, developing, closing, and delivering equity, project/corporate finance, and other contractual structures across major infrastructure projects in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Position Description

  • The Brickstone Graduate Internship Program (GIP) offers the best chance to obtain expertise of financing large-scale projects, develop your technical and professional abilities, and build the groundwork for your future career at Brickstone Africa.
  • This internship is only available to Pre-NYSC, NYSC, and 0–2 year (Post-NYSC) service members who have successfully completed the FMVA certification course and are proficient in using FMVA.
  • The FMVA certification offers all the information, abilities, and methods necessary to succeed in the Brickstone Graduate Internship Program, according to Brickstone. The ideal candidates for this hybrid full-time position (both online and in person) should reside in or commute everyday from the Lagos Mainland.

Business Presentation

As a team member, you would play the following roles:
  • gaining understanding of the documentation used for industrial study for Powerpoint Presentations. You will work on various presentations, each of which will vary in form and content.
  • You will be exposed to business content from every industry (for example, healthcare, energy, infrastructure, and real estate) with a variety of guidelines, ranging from developing engaging content based on information gathered, flowcharts, and enhancing visuals/frameworks to convey the message, to communicating ideation to our clients using PowerPoint Presentation.
  • These presentations will be made for various audiences and objectives, which will also help you understand the Infrastructure background and how Brickstone operates.
Financial Modeling:
As a member of a team, your responsibilities would include:
  • constructing financial models based on previous data and delivering estimates based on numerous operating parameters relevant to the industry.
  • Making suggestions for and implementing processes to generate the company’s forecast and budget.
  • determining the most important financial and non-financial risks and advising steps to reduce those risks.
  • sensitivity and scenario analysis that is appropriate to support investment decisions.

 

Planning a project:
You would be a member of a team, and your duties would include:
  • determining the needs of the project and the client for diverse projects
  • Once pledges and accomplishments are made, monthly, weekly, or daily progress reports should be created.
  • juggling the conflicting demands for projects’ quality, scope, time, and budget.

Probation

  • After the probation is over, there will be a one-month probationary period.

We Need These Technical Skills:

  • completed the FMVA certification training and achieved FMVA use
  • Excel, PowerPoint, and Word are all Microsoft Office tools that you should be familiar with.
  • a strong grasp of financial projections, strong financial modeling, and strong valuation capabilities
  • Ability to create PowerPoint pitch decks and gather, process, and analyze data efficiently

Additional prerequisites

  • 0–2 Experience but a Second-Class Upper or Better in Any Degree
  • the capacity to pick up new ideas fast, Operating with little oversight, strong teamwork
  • Possessing good presentation and interpersonal abilities
  • A great advantage is demonstrating a core interest in investment banking, corporate finance, project finance, and financial advisory.

 

The Payroll Factor

  • For their first two or three months, interns would get a stipend of NGN 75,000 per month.
